It is not often that one associates hybrid injection molding machine Manufacturers cement with art. While some components of other materials have been included in the collection, the calming look that comes along with the greyness of cement makes it class apart. And unlike plastic or wood, that material has a stronger outcome.

The young designer, who is also a founder of ‘Craft Beton’ shares that a lot of research went into this project. At ‘Craft Beton’, we didn’t have any clashes, it was infact a great opportunity for sharing and expanding ideas. ”But what about the greyness of the material? And does the minimalistic look that cement can give work well on products or does it needs enhancement with other materials? Tyagi feels, “ While there have been pieces that have used some other materials, I wouldn’t say that cement doesn’t have the power to be worked upon alone. If beautiful leaf-shaped bowls, ashtrays, candle holders and trays don’t make one’s head turn, there is also jewellery made out of cement. But when an artist combines such material with ideas located in the beauty of nature, the resulting product is definitely intriguing. With cement you have a power to mould it in which ever way you want. Her collection is inspired by seasonal changes. She has worked previously with artisans in regions like Balakatti, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Firozabad and Kutch.” She started working on this project in collaboration with a team of three other artists, Alan Saga, Miroslaw Baca and Somesh Singh, who have their own take on this very versatile medium. After all the medium has not been explored in the world of art a lot. “But cement is a very versatile material.Tyagi has previously explored metal, wood, glass and embroidery. A rage of artistic and utility based products have been created by designer Iti Tyagi who explored the medium as a part of ‘Craft Beton’.

“We experimented a lot to find out how to come to a specific design, what temperature to work at while handling cement. It was very interesting to research on this medium and was also a great learning opportunity as an artist.”Tyagi is also interested in sustainable development and likes to help marginalised sections of the art world. “Cement can be moulded by hands as well and that works really well for design.” The collection is proof that design in India has made a huge shift towards minimalism and minimalism is here to stay. Published: Nov 26, 2017, 12:16 am IST Updated: Nov 26, 2017, 12:53 am IST Iti Tyagi took it upon herself to challenge the notion that cement & art aren’t great companions and came up with many artistic and utility products. When she first got the brief for playing with cement and working beautiful pieces out of it, Tyagi was, “confused”, she says.”While the artist has previously worked for many well known brands and designed household and lifestyle related products, she shares her experience of working with a team, “As different artists come together, the ideas are only bound to grow. Every material has it ’s own advantages and disadvantages. There are many pieces in the collection that have only used cement and it has worked out beautifully.

While this could be a great way to have a safe community, hackers could make best use of this technology and probably sell it to the underworld to find their next victim easily. Using sensors, cameras and radars, the car can drive around a given route by sensing and viewing its surroundings. For example, ask Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa for the time.

It will take a lot of time and investment to make roads safer and compliant for self-driving cars to commute. Fortunately, today’s driverless cars still need a human behind the wheel for emergency takeover. It processes the voice input, crunches the audio into data using a set of algorithms that it needs to convert voice commands into data commands. And from smartphones that can automatically detect the frame and do some sorcery to get the best image from a puny sensor to smart speakers and android robots that can communicate with you like another human being. But 2018 saw a boost of artificial intelligence in almost everything — from speakers to air conditioners, smartphones to cars. Face recognition has also seen a big move into smartphone’s today. While self-driving cars are probably the future mode of transport, today’s roads and pedestrian rules are not meant for the autonomous traffic.Artificial Intelligence — this was something that was vague a few years ago.

Well, we could see those days nearing soon unless we make sure that we limit the power of AI before it is too late.Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not bad; the major concern is how humans use the AI. While AI can be used for the good, a simple error or manipulation by the AI algorithm can ruin someone’s life. Let’s look at a few AI-based platforms and the dangers that could lurk within each of them, and if they are not attended to carefully by their creators, they could spell disaster. If this technology is not made robust enough, we could soon see a dystopian future where privacy and security could be at stake. With the best of it seen used by Apple on its latest iPhones, others are also implementing it into their phones in order to unlock smartphones and make online payments. While the instruction is at no fault, the algorithm is the main culprit. Soon, we could see the fingerprint biometrics fade away to face recognition. It grabs information from cameras, sensors and a lot of other inputs to know the way ahead and steer around to its destination. But we have also seen hackers attempting to break into this technology by building fake faces using simple and cheap methods such as masks and silicon to replicate the face and skin. While AI is constantly getting better as it learns along the way, there could be dangers lurking for us in the future.AI is a set of instructions that is born from algorithm. The police were working on a test drive and the plastic injection machine citizens were well informed about the same.

There are a handful of companies (such as Google, Uber and a few more) who are experimenting with AI-driven cars and many are also currently running around the streets in a few countries. If then crunches the data into an output, and then gives out the answer through the speaker, using an artificial pre-recorded voice. Face recognition:Recently, the London police went on to once again place cameras around its streets in order to do a test on live or real-time video-based face detection on its citizens. We have seen fictional movies showing how AI-based systems take over the world and killer robots that could put an end to mankind.Today we use AI everywhere — from common home appliances such as smart vacuum cleaners that automatically clean the surroundings and charge themselves, to driverless cars that ride you to your destiny at the push of a button. This drive was to check how the face detection algorithm could be used in real time to search for people, who are lost, and wanted criminals and terrorists. If we are not careful, vigil or cautious, AI could be manipulated by bad guys, and who knows what could be in store for us ahead. The future will also see the technology enter conventional appliances such as televisions (the TV will know who is watching and personalize the content accordingly) or cars (where you can authorize the car to start with your face). No one knew what it really meant.Autonomous cars: Well, AI is the best example here. Roads will need sensors, pedestrians will need to adhere to strict rules, and a lot more has to still be placed in line. Additionally, AI needs a lot of computing power and processing time to come up with the right decision and make immediate responses. A single bug in the algorithm could make the AI go for a complete toss, putting the car into a rampant metal beast. Deepfake.

No one knew what it really did. With AI and ML (Machine Learning) hand-in-hand, things can be automated to glory, without much human intervention. However, self-driving cars are not completely safe — at least not yet. Same goes for an auto-pilot mode in an airplane or a self-driving car. Confused? AI works on algorithm and gives an output with a set of commands after processing the input. You may have heard of the Uber incident where a woman was mowed down by a self-driving car because the car was not able to spot the victim in time. While these seem to be something that we look forward to getting better and flawless technology in the future, there are a few AI areas that could be equally dangerous to mankind in future

The resulting cocktail list wasn’t that impressive. If I had more space in general, or at least a dedicated bar area, and I were frequently gathering people over to enjoy an evening of drinks, I would reconsider. The company’s wireless mixer glass creates a mini-tornado as the liquids pour, one that keeps going for a minute after the last ingredient is added, for a perfect blend. It’d be a hit at hotel executive clubs or airport lounges. However, if I had set it up with whiskey and sweet vermouth, I could have had what the app listed as a “New Old Fashioned,” to which I’d have had only to add two dashes of orange bitters and the garnish. Even with my non-existent mixology skills, I can usually handle making one of those.

The Barsys will keep your mixers cold for 15 hours to 18 hours, but it doesn’t dispense ice; nor will it shake up a martini for you.Cocktail TrialsAfter all that troubleshooting, my fiancé and I needed a drink. Mixers need to be poured into the provided canisters, which then slide into stations on the right, where they lock into place.0 that can make me that Old Fashioned —I’m going to be old-fashioned and spend my 1,050 down at the bar. Until then — or a version 2.Once your spirits and mixers are loaded, you turn it on, sync your phone or tablet via an app to the Bluetooth enabled machine, and input all the ingredients there. A rubber nozzle inserted into each bottle prevents leaks. But doesn’t having one sound nice?I thought so, too, especially because I love a good cocktail and I love hosting parties, but I never throw actual cocktail parties because I honestly don’t have what it takes. After a quick call to Barsys, removing the pad, turning everything off and on again, and re-syncing, we were finally in the cocktail-making business. There is definitely something to be said for never having to measure and getting a perfectly balanced, thoroughly mixed drink every time, though. And sure, with a glass, some ice, 30 seconds, and a smidge of forethought, I could have a Negroni at the touch of a button. When It’s Really Worth ItOne use case where the Barsys could shine is an actual party.Round TwoSwapping out OJ for tonic and tequila for dry vermouth, the cocktail menu now populated with a classic gin and tonic and martinis, which it mixed up in the time it took me to spear my favorite olive.Cocktail-making on the Barsys is controlled via an appThe Barsys is an impressive machine to sit on your countertop — relatively compact, considering it holds five bottles of liquor and three canisters for mixers, although you’ll still need a decent amount of additional counter space to accommodate it. A “Negroni 2”: 45 mL sweet vermouth, 45 mL Campari, 45 mL gin, 1 big ice cube, and a twist of orange peel. We tried every glass option at our disposal, including the provided mixer glass. How It Actually WorkedWe ran into some roadblocks along the way to our cocktails. All the drinks came out great. (Time save!)It’s this point where we get to the root of the problem with the machine and with most smart home tech in general: It’s much less useful than it promotes itself to be.In my stereotypically tiny New York apartment, in which one has to be extra-judicious about even the most essential appliances, I had to relocate my microwave and coffee maker to make enough room for the Barsys itself, plus space next to it for loading and unloading the mixers. It’s novel and fun to use. With each cocktail suggestion in the app, there is also a recommended glass to use and a rundown of anything else that should go in the glass—ice, a garnish, sugar, and so forth.First, there was some confusion with the Bluetooth syncing: my phone kept asking for a pin to sync the Barsys.

There was one drink suggestion that really made me laugh. Nobody needs a robot bartender in their home, much as nobody needs Alexa to turn on the lights. My favorite part was the rather satisfying robotic whir as your cocktail moves along on the drink platform, from which the liquor is poured, to where the mixers are dispensed. But after spending a few weeks with the Barsys, it became clear to me that while it makes for a cool, robotic addition to my apartment, I really need to return my microwave and coffeemaker to their rightful places. In the time it took to take care of all this, a leakage problem with the canisters holding our mixers had emerged. And the Barsys does look good while making your beverage, with its pleasantly modern design and interactive lights that signal when your drink is ready for you. It can’t make you every drink imaginable, but with the right combination of spirits and mixers, you can create a menu for your night; put out the bitters, sugar, and citrus wedges; and go enjoy your guests while your robot bartender keeps the drinks coming. I chalked up the tech issue to my two-year old phone as the backlight on the Barsys went from flashing blue to purple, and the disk platform that would eventually hold a cocktail glass moved across the the tray and back, signaling it was ready to make some drinks. I was promptly sent the newly redesigned canisters, which proved to be as leakproof as promised. The wireless mixer can always be used, but substituting a regular old tumbler, highball glass, or martini glass will get your cocktail made in 30 seconds or fewer, without the extreme blending. But for personal everyday use, it’s probably still easier to make a cocktail yourself. How It’s Supposed to WorkBase spirits are mounted in their bottles atop the Barsys machine. It seemed simple enough. After searching the manual, the back of the Barsys, and the website for a pin (or mention of a pin), I opened the app and it turned out I was able to connect from there without one. I’d press “Make” on the app and after a few moments the backlight would turn red, and the app would alert me that there was no glass, despite what I knew to be true.Almost. I was also assured that anyone who had bought the Barsys with the original canisters was being sent the new ones, free of charge.— Bloomberg. If you’re reading this from the suburbs, or, say, a dedicated bar space in your weekend home, this issue is moot. We weren’t going to make enough to warrant filling up a canister with lime juice, so we added the appropriate amount of lime juice to the wireless mixer and plugged some custom recipes into the app to meet our needs.Except, it wasn’t. It’s not as wide as a standard microwave, but it’s definitely bigger than a bread box: 19¾ inches by 13½ inches by 15½ inches, to be exact. For an Old Fashioned, the Barsys would take care of the very tedious task of pouring my whiskey for me; I’d have to handle the sugar, bitters, and muddling on my own. A spokesperson for Barsys explained that because I was using a demo, my canisters were a little old.

Without the alcohol and mixers, it weighs 50 pounds. But after a month of testing out the Barsys Automated Cocktail Maker (1,050), I’m inclined to believe the world is one enjoyable, novelty gadget richer with it.Turns out a little pad had been put under the disk for packing purposes and, because of that, the Barsys was having trouble sensing when a glass was in place. But beyond that, you hit a wall. All in all, it’s a cinch to unpack and set up, with a minimum of parts to dirty China two color injection molding machine Factory or misplace. Yes, the Barsys makes measuring standard pours a cinch, which, if you’re bleary after a long day’s work and really need a whiskey — but don’t want to overdo it by accident — fine, there’s a use case. The app lets you add and modify recipes, so you could create a signature cocktail or two. So, if you’re looking for an icy (shaken, not stirred) martini, you can use your usual shaker (which you’ve pre-filled with ice), let the machine precisely measure out the ingredients, then work those arm muscles. Later, I swapped the tequila back in, along with a bottle of Cointreau, to make some margaritas. Most consisted of one liquor plus one mixer: rum and coke, gin and ginger, tequila and orange juice, or vodka and orange juice (aka a screwdriver, if you wanna get fancy). With a library of over 2,000 cocktails, the app provides a list of drinks the Barsys can make, based on those ingredients, and lets you know when you’re running low on any particular spirit or mixer. For anything more complicated, which is to say anything approaching a true at-home cocktail bar experience, you’re going to need some finishing skills or patience in swapping everything around. We started off with what I considered some standards: rum, tequila, gin, whiskey, vodka, orange juice, Coke, and ginger ale.) The Barsys creates a world in which the countertop has become the lazy lush’s regular
